Sentis research into the drivers of safety incident underreporting has been recognised at the Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) 13th Industrial and Organisational Psychology Conference, held in Adelaide from 11-13 July 2019. The conference, which was attended by more than 400 professionals, featured speakers from around the world including Sentis’ Principal Consultant, Ben Carnell.
Ben presented Sentis’ latest research paper, Understanding the Drivers of Underreporting in Your Organisation: Ignorance Isn’t Bliss, which was awarded Best Individual Research (or Case Study) Paper.
The paper was based on a study of 12,640 participants across the agriculture, construction, education, government, industrial services, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, and utilities industries. It found that 25% of safety incidents fail to be reported in today’s workplace with some organisations experiencing a rate as high as 66%. Access the full report to learn more.
The APS is the largest professional association for psychologists in Australia with a commitment to advancing psychology as both a discipline and profession.
