Foundations of Psychosocial Safety Masterclass
Unlock the secrets to a thriving and harmonious workplace
Gain the knowledge to identify and address psychosocial hazards, and the leadership tools to build a culture of trust, care and open communication.
While psychological health has always been part of the 2011 Work Health and Safety Act, it’s psychosocial safety that has come into sharper focus in recent years. With new regulations, much needed discussion around how we can create cultures of trust, respect and inclusivity have entered the mainstream.
As a culture, this progress is heartening – but as a people leader? It probably leaves you with more questions than answers. You want to do right by those you see and manage every day. But where should you start? And what exactly goes into creating a psychosocially safe workplace?
It may feel overwhelming and intimidating – but we have some good news; you don’t need a degree in psychology to create a safe and well work environment where everyone thrives. That’s where we come in.

What you'll learn
Understanding Psychosocial Safety
A psychosocially safe workplace is one where people feel valued, supported and able to thrive.
While every organisation’s challenges and needs will differ, leaders play a crucial role in shaping a culture that protects and enhances the physical, social and psychological experience of the workplace.
In this module, we will explore what psychosocial safety is, why it matters, and how leaders can actively foster a workplace where people feel safe, engaged, and empowered to do their best work.
Respectful Behaviour: Owning our Influence
A respectful workplace is one where people feel safe, included and valued.
Leaders play a crucial role in setting the tone for respectful interactions, fostering a culture where everyone can contribute and collaborate without fear of bias, bullying or exclusion.
In this module, we will explore how workplace behaviours shape the social and psychological experience of work, and how leaders can actively promote positive, respectful relationships that support a thriving and inclusive culture.
Breaking the Bias: Igniting Inclusivity
An inclusive workplace is one where people feel safe, valued and free from bias.
Leaders play a crucial role in challenging assumptions, fostering belonging, and creating an environment where diverse perspectives are heard and respected.
In this module, we’ll explore how bias – both conscious and unconscious – shapes workplace experiences, and how leaders can take proactive steps to break bias, build equity and cultivate a truly inclusive culture.
Safe to Speak Up: Feedback and Productive Conflict
A psychologically safe workplace is one in which people feel empowered to voice concerns, share ideas and engage in honest conversations without fear of judgment or retribution.
Leaders play a crucial role in setting the tone for open communication, fostering trust, and ensuring that feedback and conflict lead to growth rather than tension.
In this module, we’ll explore the barriers that prevent people from speaking up, the impact of psychological safety on team dynamics and how leaders can create a culture where every voice is valued and heard.
