For most of her career, Tah had never experienced safety training that felt personal. After 20 years in the mining and resources industry, that changed.
What she didn’t expect was that the skills she learned through Sentis training would reach far beyond the worksite, reshaping the way she thought, the decisions she made, and ultimately, the life she was living.
This is her story.
What is reframing and why does it matter?
The language we use with ourselves shapes the choices we make. When that internal language is stuck in “I can’t,” “I won’t,” or “why bother?” — it limits far more than we realise.
Reframing is one of the core skills Sentis programs build in workers. Grounded in applied psychology and neuroscience, it’s a practical technique for identifying the unhelpful frames that drive behaviour and deliberately shifting them.
It’s less about thinking positively and more about thinking accurately.
For Tah, that shift started on the worksite, but it didn’t stop there. A skill she first practised in a group scenario at work became the tool she used to get her driver’s licence at 37, travel overseas for the first time, and purchase her first home.
As she puts it:Â
I wasn't living life, life was happening to me. Now, I'm in the driver's seat.
What Sentis programs build
Sentis programs are designed to make safety personal. They connect the skills that keep people safe at work to the motivations that matter most in their lives. When people understand why they’re making safer choices, not just what those choices are, the change sticks.
Tah’s story is a powerful example of what that looks like in practice. The reframing skills she developed through Sentis training didn’t just improve her safety mindset, they gave her a new way of navigating life.
That’s what lasting culture change looks like.
Your people have their own story waiting.
The skills Tah built through Sentis training changed how she moved through the world, not just how she worked. That kind of impact is what Sentis programs are designed to deliver.
