Using Pre-Start Observation Offline
The Pre-Start Observation tool is built to work with or without an internet connection, making it suitable for use in the field where connectivity may be limited or unreliable.
How Offline Mode Works
If you lose internet connectivity while using the platform, you can still open and complete a New Observation form. Your data is saved locally on your device until a connection is restored. You don’t need to do anything differently. The form works the same way whether you’re online or offline.
The status indicator at the top of the Home screen shows whether the platform can currently reach the backend. When connectivity is available, it displays Backend reachable and confirms that all observations are synced.
Syncing Your Data
When you reconnect to the internet, press Sync Now to push any saved observations to the platform. Once synced, your observations appear in My Observations and are visible in reporting as normal.
To avoid data loss, don’t close the browser tab until the sync is confirmed complete.
Troubleshooting Sync Issues
If your observations aren’t syncing, first check that your device has a stable internet connection and try pressing Sync Now again. If the problem persists, keep the browser tab open and try again once you have a stronger or more stable connection. Closing the tab or clearing your browser data before syncing may result in unsaved observations being lost.
